NORBERT LEO BUTZ ALBUM RELEASE AT THE SHELDON
Two-time Tony Award winner and St. Louis native Norbert Leo Butz, will take over The Sheldon this Friday, September 29, at 7:30pm.
The hometown performance will kick off the release of Butz’s new album “King of Hearts.” Surrounded by the ideal acoustics of The Sheldon, Butz has a night of collaboration and celebration planned–and the show will be supported by special guest, local singer-songwriter, Devon Cahill.
Butz’s long list of impressive credits includes Broadway roles in “Wicked,” “Big Fish,” “The Last Five Years,” and “My Fair Lady.” His performance in “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” and “Catch Me If You Can” earned him two Tony’s. Butz is one of only nine actors to receive the honor of winning the “Best Actor in a Musical” Tony twice. He’s also enjoyed roles in television over the years including parts in “Bloodline,” “Mercy Street,” and “Fosse/Verdon.”
“King of Hearts,” is BUTZ’s fourth solo album.
Butz is joined by Cahill, a celebrated indie singer-songwriter. Cahill has flourished in the St. Louis music and theatre scene since the age of six with her debut performance in “The Sound of Music.” She built popularity with her indie folk band, Letter to Memphis, and now plays as a solo artist.
“I feel extremely fortunate and grateful for the opportunity to open for the amazing Norbert Leo Butz’s hometown album release show,” says Cahill. “He and I have so much of the same musical taste and have been working together whenever we get the chance for the past 10 years. His new album sounds so good and I’m honored to kick off the show with my original indie folk tunes. My band will include some special guests, and you can expect some fun collaborations throughout the evening! This will be a lovely celebration of music and a night to remember.”
